Captain Vinny Vetere (Master 100 ton) Captain Vinny Vetere’s fifty years of Striped Bass fishing in New York Bight Area guarantees your trip will be one of the most memorable you'll ever have. When he was 11 years old he started working in Sheepshead Bay aboard the Amberjack III as a deckhand puller. Within a few years he worked his way up to first mate. At the age of 16 he owned his first boat which he used every evening after the big boat came in. Prior to 1984 Capt. Vinny worked as a commercial Striped Bass fisherman. It was with this fish money he paid his way thru 6 years of college. There were many days when he & his partner Nick would deliver more than 1000lbs of bass to the Fulton Fish Market. After owning 11 new boats over 35 years he teamed with True World Marine in New Jersey to design the perfect fishing/charter boat. He was at the factory everyday to guide & help build the Katfish. There is truly no other boat like her. The knowledge developed from a lifetime of fishing and working on party boats is combined to insure your fishing success. A NYC teacher by training (now retired), Captain Vetere’s reputation as a charter captain and industry leader are well known and highly respected.
